The Chicago Project

1/15/07       You have been in The Chicago Project now for three months.  In that time we have covered significant events and forces that have effected the lives of African Americans today as a people group.

In words, describe the African American experience in America.  Explain your response.

African Americans have gone through alot in the years, but everyone dosent know how much it has effected today. Even today we have the same problems as the past just not as noticed.

 1.) where you live --- Where you live is a big part of the past. If you ever noticed their is normaly two sides of a town. wonder why??  you might even know it as the GOOD and the BAD side of town. And you know you have heard this before and you know which side you live on. This impact was created by the history of segergation.

 2.) words -- Words and stereotypes you use today have been created by slavory, and the segergating. for instances The movie SHREK watch it closely. Also watch the movie Star Wars. The thing is that, every one has used a phrase or two that they don't even know where it is from but it came from African Americans past. (Ex. Mombo Jombo)

what has happened to the Afrian Americans is HAPPENING again with Mexicans. Its the same thing is happening all over again.

Also KKK is still going on but under different names. Some people can't let go from the past!!!
