The best 3 months of my life!!!!:)>1-15-08

1/15/07       You have been in The Chicago Project now for three months.  In that time we have covered significant events and forces that have effected the lives of African Americans today as a people group.

In words, describe the African American experience in America.  Explain your response.

So i have learned alot since i have been in this class after school.

African Americans have been through a lot, since the beginning of time they had their own country...then they came to the America's to be free....But when they came over here they didn't expect what was coming for them in the future....in the 18th century....and down the road.

Can anyone tell me when slavery Started?

Well it started in 1700's.

My favorite topic was the Emmett Till, the reason being it was the most eye opening expenince in my life.

Emmett Till was a young African American who went down to Money, Mississppi to visit his uncle. By the time he got down there to see his uncle..he was at church and he was falling asleep....and he just got up and left...and went to the store...Emmett had a speaking problem so when a white women came out of the store she thougth he whistled....at her. That night the women went home and told her husband and so the next morning he got up and went looking for the young boy..and he found him and so he dragged him  to a barn and started abusing him...sooner later they came out and he was out cold....they lady husband took Emmett to the river.....and he was to return home the next day...a few days went by..and his mother got worried....and repotred him missing.....he was found three days later.
