Pre-Trip Activities

Preparing for the trip to Chicago takes six months and includes a trip to Cincinnati and to Dayton, Ohio. This year we read a total of fifteen articles from four different books to help us understand the economic, social, political, and religious dynamics that contributed to the ghettoization of North Lawndale, Chicago. We examined the Civil Rights movement through readings, videos, lectures, and historical simulations.
